1-21 Prayers of the Remnant that Changes Things

Instead of a list of verses the reference material this time is a link to my book, Straight Talk….., which is a book God gave me. It shares what it really means to be born again and baptized and is a reference material, always free on my web site (https://godlyempowerment.com/about/).

You are welcome to share out to anyone who is interested in getting saved. You are free to print, to send a link to it, but do not change the wording or the version of the Bible in any way.

1-21 Prayers of the Remnant that Changes Things

   What makes prayer work?

Why do some prayers go unanswered?

What changes the mind even of God in a situation?

What chases out the enemy and causes the standards of God to arise?

What will bring God back into the center of our world and defeat the evil plans of the worldly minds in control at present?

For the next few blogs we will touch on some of the special things God has given the Remnant concerning prayer.

Binding and Loosing

Prayer is an unending subject, but, as the Remnant, there are some things that stand out that most people, even in church surroundings, do not realize. Indeed, it seems like they are afraid to step out and take up the authority that God is expecting us to use to further His kingdom on this earth. He has given us the keys to the kingdom.

In the book of Matthew there is a story about Peter and Jesus that includes the subject of binding and loosing. Amazingly, these are the only two Scriptures that deal with this subject directly in the Word.

Jesus and the disciples are having a conversation. He is bringing them to a point of understanding. It is vital that they know who He really is. The disciples answers varied until Peter speaks, “Thou are THE Christ, the Son of the Living God,” and Jesus agrees with him.

Jesus’ comments after this reveal several things, the most important point being, that the keys to the kingdom of heaven are wrapped up in Jesus who is THE Christ. Out of that understanding we come to know that He is the Rock to stand on, that we have the Spirit of the Living God to bring us wisdom and words from the Father, and that there is an action item of “binding and loosing” to overcome the works of the enemy.

Matt 16:13-16 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? 14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. 15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? 16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

Matt 16:16-19 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. 17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. 18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Matt 18:18-20 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. 19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. 20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

The first fact we see in these Scriptures is that He is THE Christ, the Son of the Living God. He has just called Himself the Son of man, which He is. But He needs them to know (and us who read about this today) and acknowledge that He is more than just the Son of man and the Son of God. He is THE Christ, sent of God to save the world. That underlying fact is a key to everything else we must know and believe about Him. He states, “Upon THIS rock I will build my church.” (See Matt 7:21-25 below)

Secondly, we see here that the Holy Spirit of our Living God was available to Peter, giving Him the Truth needed for the disciples then and for generations to come.

Pentecost had not been experienced at this point, because Jesus had not yet been crucified and risen. But, the Spirit of God was very active and was revealing things to Peter.

Jesus’ tells Peter he is blessed because flesh has not revealed this fact to him, but the Father. Father God was not standing there so He had to have spiritually spoken to Peter.

The Spirit of our Living God is the major key to the kingdom of heaven. Without the Spirit we have no connection. We must be born of the Spirit or we will not see the kingdom of heaven.

John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Thirdly, we see the way of “binding and loosing” to bind the powers of evil and to release victory over those powers. We need to notice that Jesus gave Peter these keys. Only Jesus has the keys. (Rev 1:18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.)

Notice that Jesus speaks to Peter that He will give the keys to Him. This is future tense. Peter was not yet baptized in the Spirit. The Spirit only revealed a fact to him at this point. Jesus’ words further explained, “Whatsoever you bind in earth will be bound in heaven and whatsoever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” That’s power, not to be taken lightly or misused.

Even Michael the archangel of God, durst not bring a railing accusation against satan, but said, “The Lord rebuke thee.”

We are not called upon to radically bind and loose things. We must hear from God and know that we are acting within His will. “He that hath ears to hear…..” refers to the Remnant.

So what are we to bind?

I would like to give an example as the Lord gave to me. When we look at the scene in Washington DC right now we see many people acting against God’s will, promoting abortion, population control, to name just two. But it is not the people we are to come against, it is the powers that rule them.

So, what do we bind? Think about it. What power is behind both of these acts? The spirit of death, satan himself. Babies and population are killed.

As Michael, we can pray, “The Lord rebuke you, satan, spirit of death.”  We can pray life to the babies and population that satan wants to steal, kill and destroy.

But that is not binding and loosing. That is praying and taking up authority in the same way Michael did. And it is totally legitimate and important to do.

But think about this. What gives this spirit power in this world? Money and evil spirits. Without money, greed, and evil thinking, the action stops. So bind the money flow that supports these causes. Forbid it to come forth. Bind it in earth and in heaven. Bind the spirits from action when God reveals them to you.

Bind the spirit of confusion that is holding the minds of evil people in their evil ways. Bind the tongue of the enemy from speaking into their minds and spirits. Silence him.

Bind the lust for power and bind the greed for money to fund evil. Call upon God to break that power and loose the power of love and a sound mind.

Seek God in what to bind and what to loose.

What would you loose in response to these things? Funds for the opposition that is fighting against the evil doers. Loose LIFE and LIGHT into the situations. Light expels darkness. Love overcomes hatred. Peace overcomes chaos.

   In conclusion:

Know and believe in the CHRIST as the answer.

Stand on the ROCK – Jesus.

Speak forth judgment on satan’s activities, “The Lord rebuke thee satan for abortion, for disease, for lust, greed, evil desires……, in the Name of Jesus.”

Bind the principalities and powers of darkness in earth and they will be bound in heaven.

Loose the powers of light, love, holiness, into the situations brought before you to pray for.

The Remnant is not weak, nor powerless. We have been inactive. We have been untrained. We have been babies in understanding. Our understanding is being opened through facing the things coming upon this earth. It is time to be about the Father’s business.

Read the word. Be instant in season and out of season. Be founded upon the Rock. Believe Him as He is presented in the Word, recognizing His true Spirit.

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.

Matt 7:21-25 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. 24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

Rom 9:33 As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

1 Peter 2:5-10 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. 6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. 7 Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, 8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. 9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: 10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
